GO D LOCS

Sent from heaven, born to teenage parents and raised in Queens, New York, the creator of GO D LOCS (pronounced goh-dee-lox or GOD locks), DeeDee B. Smith has been the family and neighborhood hair care specialist since her youth. Her passion for hair began with her blue pom-poms and her grandmother’s wigs that she would put on her head and style while imagining life with beautiful long flowing hair.

Fast forward to college, she graduated from Morgan State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in biology. She worked in the medical field for a season, but her passion for hair would prevail and she began assisting various New York celebrity stylists which afforded her the opportunity to work at salons, as well as working in print, television/film, and New York Fashion Week.

In the future, look for GO D LOCS as a bridge to connect quality hairstyling with education. No more suffering from the consequences of tight and poor hairstyling, GO D LOCS has come full circle and her childhood vision of having long flowing hair has become a self-fulfilling prophecy. Tomorrow looks bright for GO D LOCS, whether working on set or at the salon or educating the masses, the mission is to help any and all those who desire to grow their own hair to its greatest potential, especially since all things are possible if you believe.
